Panathlon is a charity that has been benefiting children with disabilities and SEN for over 20 years. Panathlon provides Paralympic style sports competition, equipment and coaching to over 25,000 children each year. During Covid, Panathlon has provided activities to do in-school and at-home during lockdown periods to keep some of the least active children, busy and active during this difficult time.
Panathlon provides a competition structure from local school events right through to National Finals in various age groups and formats such as our Special Schools Finals at Stoke Mandeville and our swim finals in the Olympic Aquatic Centre.
We have developed various impairment specific football competitions including powerchair football, visually impaired football and a learning disability football final that culminates in finals at Wembley (Powerleague).
Recent research has proven the wide ranging benefits from being involved and improving children's self-confidence, team-work, social and mental health benefits.
We also provide thousands of young leaders with hands on experience each year by officiating and co-ordinating our hundreds of competitions and activities.
